The underground lives on even if there´s no good venues for the moment in Sthlm. This L.S. event took place in a Boule & Tapas bar in the slaughterhouse area. Wasn´t really my night even though I met some ppl I really like. It all came to an end when some girl (bitch) broke the table I was sitting on and I got beer all over my clothes and the camera. I left. And missed both IXXI and LIFELOVER. Ohwell…shit happens. Anyway, all the respects & thanks to my friend Adrian for inviting me! The lights sucked, of course;)

DBE was easily one of the nicest experiences in my life when it comes to festivals and events, and I´m really happy I got the opportunity to be there. Besides the music and all the people, the highlight for me was to see Costin´s (Chioreanu, Twilight13 Media) art exhibition “Where The Purgatory Ends”. Dark and beautiful artwork with a specially written soundtrack playing in the background (the music was made in co-operation with Rune (Blasphemer from Aura Noir, Ava Inferi & Mayhem) and some other musicians). If you live in Helsinki, don´t miss it at the Mega Therion Festival 28-29th of October!!!
It was also a pleasure to meet Doru, the organizer, who also helped me with some practical stuff like hotelbookings, accreditations & such. A really nice and helpful guy who made all of this happen.
It will be a 4th Edition in 2012 so I think you should concider making a trip to Romania and visit DBE. And while at it, try to see more of this crazy beautiful country aswell:) I´m lucky enough having some great friends over there, so I got myself a fantastic tour crisscrossing Transylvania. Hopefully there will be a new Romanian tour next year! I´m sure there´s a new plan coming up soon;))

My Romanian photographer friends, who already seen this band some place,  told me not to miss out the show. DGT was truly a photographers dream with all the puppets and characters and stuff that happened all the time. I´d like to see them again at some point, now I just took some pics and that was it. I suck:(
The last band to play and the grande finale of a great festival. The party still went on ´til the morning:)

For some reason I ended up with the biggest bunch of pics on  HEXVESSEL.  Great band, nice people and most of them are fellow countrymen (I´m originally from Finland. No surprise??:)).  And they also stayed, as everybody else,  at the infamous and wonderful Hotel Transylvania:) Loved the show!
Snatched from E.M.: “Hexvessel is a psychedelic folk band founded by Englishman Mat “Kvohst” McNerney.  After moving to Finland in 2009 other musicians from Tampere featuring members of Galacticka and Dark Buddha Rising joined him in the project.”

So veeeery few pics on these two bands! The bands were great, and I loved the gigs, but as I mentioned before, I didn´t really “work” that much in Alba:) Hope Doru (the organizer, great guy!) will forgive me, I´ve at least done LOTS of promotion:D Anyway, I uploaded the ones I had.

DBE3_Got the chance to see Edmond´s (DORDEDUH) other project SUNSET IN THE 12TH HOUSE first thing on Day 2 at the Dark Bombastic. Excellent way to start a new day at the festival. I really enjoyed the music. It was so beautiful! And the all the guys in the band are such a skilled musicians. It was also their first live performance ever!
darkbombasticevening.com: “Sol Faur and Hupogrammos, known only through the Metal dimension, along with other musicians, wish to present those attending a different stylistic approach, embodied through an elaborate form of Experimental Post-Rock, with psychedelic & esoteric touches. The new musical expression that SUNSET IN THE 12th HOUSE will unveil to the public plans to follow a path independent of what these musicians have done so far.”

The finishing bands of the great evening, ALCEST and YEAR OF NO LIGHT. Really awesome, both of them!! Add some great company, some beers and excellent food made by the guys from Gambrinus Pub…I so wish you´d been there!! YEAR OF NO LIGHT played to “Vampyr”, an old silent movie from the -30´s. (The whole gig further down the page). Again, not so many pics. Was busy enjoying the festival:)

Snatched from E.M.: After internal tensions in the band Negură Bunget, Hupogrammos and Sol Faur left the band to form Dordeduh; while drummer Negru continued Negură Bunget with new musicians. “Dordeduh” comes from three Romanian words, annexed together. “Dor de duh” means “Longing for spirit”.

An interesting  band!! Amazing music and one of the many highlights at the Dark Bombastic. For many people Negura B. is far from the same nowadays, especially when this guy Hupogrammos left the band. Don´t really have an opinion, because It´s not that long ago I started listening to the band. Had the chance to spend some time with him and his disciples (some young people looking for answers to the big questions of life:)) later in the evening and we talked about all kinds of shit, shared stuff (his beer and my cigarrettes:)).
Really cool, intellectual guy. We were staying at the same hotel with all the bands, thanks to Doru the organizer fixing that, so we did meet a few times. His girlfriend and the rest of the band were also really nice and I do hope we´ll meet again! The accomodation offer in Stockholm stands!;))
The pics are very so-so. Spent more time meeting people and checking out the gigs than taking pictures. I´ll do better next time:)

At Dark Bombastic Evening 3rd Edition I met people talking Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian. Quite weird and surreal after touring Transylvania in more than a week with hearing nothing but Romanian and English….:) Anyway, DRACONIAN are from Sweden and yet this was the first time I saw a live gig with the guys. Really cool! Loved it!

DRACONIAN @ DBE 3 [The whole gig]

DARK BOMBASTIC EVENING 3rd EDITION was one of the nicest events I´ve ever been to. Loved the whole concept of it! You can read more of DBE@www.darkbombasticevening.com
Notes: Les Discrets had Neige (Alcest) on bass and the drummer Winterhalter used to play in Peste Noire.
“Dark Bombastic Evening desires to be a nonconformist festival that promotes and supports the Underground spirit in the freest and most unconditional ways! It was created from an honest wish to offer friendship, to organise cultural events filled with diversity and to establish a musical Underground platform unique to Romania and beyond.”
