WOLAND – Blastfest [Garage], Bergen, Norway 20/2 2014
My very first time ever in Norway and Bergen!! I met Peik, the vocalist, with his other band CAVUS when they visited Stockholm a couple of years ago. WOLAND started up in 2010 and released their debut album ‘Hyperion’ on Indie Recordings just a couple of weeks ago. Great gig and nice to meet the guys (and Laura!:)).
Btw…they share the drummer with SHINING! The magnificent Rainer!:)

THYRFING – Bryggarsalen 15/2 2014
These guys rock!! I´m finally over the fact that Thomas Väänänen left the band (in 2006? Long time ago in which case. Jens joined the band the year after) and fully enjoyed the awesome show. Fantastic setlist, not a weak moment and Jens is truly a great frontman. Lots of power in this band live. Can´t wait to see them again. I also want to thank them for having me @ the gig:)

MÅNEGARM – Bryggarsalen 15/2 2014
Didn´t see the whole gig with MÅNEGARM this time. They played as the final band and had to leave early. I also took a very few (and bad) pics:/ I´ll do better next time:)
NETHERBIRD – Bryggarsalen 15/2 2014
Finally I got to see Johan Nephente´s band live on stage when they performed as the first band on this glorious Vintermörker event. Symphonic black metal isn´t normally my most favourite stuff, but NETHERBIRD live was really good and totally thumbs up for the latest album!

SERPENT OMEGA – The Liffey 31/1 2014
“Serpent Omega is a stoner doom metal band from Stockholm, Sweden, formed by the sole intent of mediating gargantuan earth-splitting heavy tunes. The band was vomited out of the innards of the Great Serpent in 2011, ever since exploring the beyond side of the void and worshipping the power of the Riff”
I often feel very privileged being able to meet all these amazing talented people and sometimes they surprise me being more awesome than expected.
First time I saw SERPENT OMEGA live and wow! Great songs (doom/sludge/stoner with some punk vibes), very good musicians and Pia doing the vocals with such awesome power, intensity and total presence! Loved her outfit also. My new hero:) Check them out and don´t miss a gig if they come to your area!
Line up: Pia – vocals / Jonsson – guitar / Brief – Bass / Sakke – Drums
SADISTIK FOREST – The Liffey 31/1 2014
SADISTIC FOREST from Finland playing in Sweden for the first time. Didn´t do my homework this time and was expecting something more stoner/doomy kind of stuff. But it was death metal and in fact really good:)) Recognized the vocalist from the great Hooded Menace. Massive performance by the guys!
Line up: Vesa Mutka Drums /Matti Salo Guitars / Antti Heikkinen Guitars / Markus Makkonen Vocals, Bass
THE FAUNS & ALCEST – Debaser Medis 29/1 2014

HEXVESSEL – Debaser Medis 29/1 2014
I´ve seen HEXVESSEL twice in Transylvania, Romania at a really cosy outdoor festival. After that they have played once in Stockholm, but I wasn´t in town so I couldn´t go. So it was awesome to see/meet them again. Awfully nice people:) I was missing some of them, tho…
Anyway, I loved the gig and the opportunity to hang out with them again. Awesome evening:))
GEHENNAH – The Liffey 25/1 2014
Only GEHENNAH on the bill. No support bands. Except our friend Totte who played some Dissection tunes for us on the old organ before the doors opened.
The organ got recently to the basement, also some “new” sofas and chairs. Really nice:)) My first gig for this year and it was totally all that. I was really happy to meet friends and all the other good ones again. And to be back “home”. Great GEHENNAH show!! Don´t know how many “last” songs they played. Obviously the crowd didn´t let them go off the stage:) It was a mayhem in the front line from the start so I only stayed there for awhile before I gave up my spot to the crowd going crazy:) So not that many live pics.
