Five bands so an early start. And as always, I arrived a couple of hours before doors opened so quite a long evening. A fantastic one, tho.

 

VOODUS, great as always (love the new single and the upcoming album “Emanating Sparks” is planned for release in early 2024). Guest vocalist Simon W. from VALKYRJA.

 

MALAKHIM being the only band I never saw before so didn´t know what to expect. Had heard good things from my friends, tho, and the Umeå bunch delivered big time! Hopefully I´ll get to see them again some day.

 

Only seen MORTUUS once for many years ago and got such high hopes. Still one of the greats to see live (Vlad from VALKYRJA on bass). Latest album “Diablerie” was released in -22. » MORTUUS Setlist

 

MEPHORASH performance was the best I´ve seen so far with the guys. They played the whole new album (with live choir) from first to last song.
From the event page: “In celebration of Mephorash’s long-awaited fifth release KRYSTL-AH, the band invites you to join a very special ceremony. The band will perform its new opus to usher in a new era of Mephorash with new aesthetic and new rituals. Each song on the upcoming album is recorded with a full choir, and the same choir will perform the album live at Slaktkyrkan on November 18th.” Sadly no picures of the choir but they deserve a special mention because they truly heightened the experience.

 

TAAKE awesome as always! Guest appearance by Pehr and Niklas from ALFAHANNE. One of the bands I could never get tired of seeing live.
Overall a super event. So far no luck finding live clips of all the bands but Eriks klipp uploaded at least a couple.

MEPHORASH på fredagen. Div ljudproblem (som med dom flesta banden på fredan) men inget som publiken verkade märka av eller bry sig om:)

 

Saknade lite Jonas Nebiros som inte längre är med på MEPHORASH gigsen, men hoppas att se honom på scen ändå framöver. Men oavsett Nebiros elr inte, så är M. ett mäktigt liveband med sjukt snygga låtar som mår bäst av att ljudet är cleant  så det  kan dåna utan skrammel.

Time flies…7 år sen jag åkte med Jonas & Joel (båda MALIGN bla) till Uppsala och den småudda “Inbreed Open Air“.  Jonas skulle gästa MEPHORASH på en låt (klippet finns i Inbreed posten). Första gången jag såg dom och har behållit dom nånstans på min playlista sen dess.
Vissa band kan skriva mäktiga låtar som sen byggs på och blir överjävligt episka. MEPHORASH är bra på sånt och kan tänkas att det är ett extra plus ifall man råkar vara insatt i den djupare meningen i lyricsen (och G. deLaval) men även om man brister på den punkten så var det ett briljant uppträdande. “Riphyon…” & “Sanguiem” bästa livelåtarna.
Den förstnämnda lite uppfukkad av teknikstrul (mycket sånt den senare tiden. Kablar & grejer som kommit av sig under ett par års ofrivillig semester?? x) I vilket fall inget långvarigt krångel.

“Violence, malice and beauty” as they were presented on the event webpage. MEPHORASH didn´t let us down, not for a second. However the soundsystem did a few times and made me a bit upset. Nevertheless, a great performance. If they´re ever coming your way, don´t miss out!

I thought they were great the first time I saw them at the small Uppsala festival a couple of years ago but now they were amazing!

Can´t wait to see them at Mörkaste Småland in September!! Also they co-operate with the great Nebiros (MALIGN, ex-OFERMOD), one of the greatest bm voices on this planet.

MEPHORASH from Uppsala got on stage as the last band on the festival sometime past midnight. Quite an impressive performance with J. “Nord/Nebiros” Tengner (MALIGN, ex-OFERMOD) as a guest during the last song “Atramentous Ungod Aspect” (video below!).

INBREED OPEN AIR 2014, några timmar på lördagkvällen. Bara sådär kort:
Hängde med Jonas (“Nord/Nebiros” MALIGN, ex-OFERMOD) och Joel (MONSTRAAT, ex-LIFELOVER) till Uppsala för Jonas skulle gästa MEPHORASH som spelade sist denna kväll.

 

Hann se lite av SUMMONED TIDE och ASSBLASTER, och nästan hela SECTU giget. Träffade på flera bekanta (flera av dom hade spelat tidigare på dagen. Bla den vid det här laget världsberömda memegubben/internetfenomenet  Martin Ågren från ONE HOUR HELL)),  men var rätt lam när det kom till att ta bilder. Så det blev bara några snaps på dom jag sprang på hela tiden och/eller fastnade en längre tid med. Kul liten festival och välordnat också. Allt elementärt IMG_0858som ska finnas på en festival fanns där trots att det hela var gratis, på en liten yta och gjord med minimal (ingen?) budget.
Armband fick man vid ingången där man också kollade medhavda väskor (ingen egen alkohol tillåten till området), öltältet fanns direkt till vänster till ingången, det fanns två ölserveringar utomhus plus en inomhus i ett trevligt fik/bar där man även kunde köpa nått ätbart för en rimlig peng.

Kön till bardisken kunde emellanåt bli lång och långsam men jag löste det smidigt med att hoppa av kön och istället sno åt mig en bit av Joakims (LifeR) hamburgare. Tack Joakim!!!

Hade dessutom några fina Convoy moments med samme man under kvällen;)) Johan från samma band såg till att jag aldrig blev ståendes nånstans utan en öl. Finfint folk! Kärlek!:)) Scenen var inte fy dum den heller. Fast kravallstaketet höll på att braka ihop vid nått tillfälle så crewfolk fick stå bakom och hålla emot under MEPHORASH spelningen. Backstageområdet avskärmat och logen var full med loppisprylar men funkade bra. Bra lineup med mest lokalanknytning. Och folk var fulla & glada:)

Fin liten festival, hade skoj, så bra gjort Link & co:))
