A GREAT gig!!! One of the very best at Steelfest!
“Cult band Mortuary Drape was formed in Italy in 1986 as a trio, by the visionary Wildness Perversion. Highly inspired by the dark arts & combining early influences from bands such as Mercyful Fate & Celtic Frost, Mortuary Drape developed their own unique style, defining themselves as black occult metal & releasing the demo Necromancy in 1987 which spread their name throughout the underground; though it was not until 1992 that their first official release surfaced, with Into the Drape.” – peaceville.com

BLASFEMIA – Steelfest 14/5 2022

BLASFEMIA, black/thrash from Colombia
“Formed in late 1986 by Ramón Reinaldo Restrepo (vocals) and Jhon Jairo Martínez (guitars) after Parabellum disbanded. The band is identified by the image of a harlequin or court jester; a humanoid at the stake incinerating speculations and contradictions to be reborn from his own ashes as the authentic man. Jhon Jairo Martínez got killed in 1998 in Medellín”
Latest full lenght “Mundo que apesta a rata muerta” released in 2018.

ACHERONTAS – Steelfest 14/5 2022

The Αχεροντας Coven born in 1996 by V.P.Adept and was ever since true to its internal tenets and traditions, which deemed the band as a “Magical Coven, dedicated to the Ancient Summerian Mysteries of Drakonian Blood”

INFERNAL WAR – Steelfest 14/5 2022

INFERNAL WAR from Poland are about Death, Hatred, Satanism, Anti-Christianity @ WII (according to M.A.)
I didn´t stay the whole gig but something happended at some point and the band just walked out without finishing the set. Heard someone got ill but haven´t been googling, so dunno. Sounded good as long I was there, tho. Not much activity on social media so no statements there.

DOEDSVANGR – Steelfest 14/5 2022

Norwegian/Finnish/French Black Metal since 2014. (The live bassist is Polish, so very international:)) Both guitarists appeared also in other bands playing at the festival. BST in THE ORDER OF APOLLYON (Fra) and Shatraug in HORNA (Fin) Last album “Serpents ov Old” was released in 2021. The drummer used to play in TSJUDER Never heard/saw this band before but good stuff!

MORGAL – Steelfest 14/5 2022

Black metal from Mikkeli, Finland. Formed in 2014 and has so far released a demo, a split (w. EXITIUS), a buch of EP´s, a livealbum and finally a full lenght in -21. (All on Werewolf Records?)
Really good liveband!! One of my many finds at the festival I need to pay some more attention to.
Band: SS Exiler Drums Crusher Guitars Lord Warmoon Vocals, Bass Serpent Caesar of the Dark Omen Guitars (Also vocals and scythe in MALIGNAMENT)
