Yasse (Yasin Hillborg, drummer in CRUCIFYRE) made a movie!!!!

He´s been working on it in many years and now it´s finally finished and going up in 35 movie theatres cross the country starting on the 7th of october. It´s a film about the history of Swedish metal and many of the stars in the movie were also at Rio this night. The movie was really good so Yasse should be really proud of himself!!:)

And if I want to (and got the time) I can see it again very soon at the Sweden Rock Cruise!!:) The releaseparty was held at Strand with SWITCH OPENS and IN SOLITUDE on stage. Blogging up some pics soon.

KATAUPPSALATrue story. And one of my best memories ever:)) The very first KATALYSATOR (later to be INVIDIOUS) gig in Uppsala. These guys opened the festival and played on the small stage upstairs. They were really young, and i mean REALLY – the singer, these days known as Hornper (IN SOLITUDE, INVIDIOUS), hadn´t even celebrated his 14th birthday yet. His brother, Gottfrid, was 15 (barely) and the rest of the band were about the same age (?). When the band entered the stage, the crowd (except the ones who actually knew what to expect) were having fun at their expence – at first. The festival used to have some young band as opening act, and the year before there were some 15-17 year olds wearing funny wigs & who were mostly in it for the laughs. Well, that wasn´t the case with KATALYSATOR. You got this 13 year old telling you that “We are KATALYSATOR and we play old school death metal”. Yeah, right.
But I think about two seconds later the giggling stopped and nobody has been taking lightly anything the Åhman brothers or any of the other guys in the band has been up to ever since. Quite the opposite.
The gig was awesome, the band pure power and the only thing that still got the crowd smiling a bit was Pelle shifted from brutal growling to some small talk between the songs:) But hey! The guy was 13!! And he was still awesome:)
Anyway, wasn´t that good friends with digital cameras yet and had to use the built-in flash, so the pics suck big time and they´re not that many, but I think they´re still very important.

Line Up (with (mostly) later bands):
Pelle Åhman –

Gottfrid – Bass / Also: In Solitude, Invidious, Repugnant, ex-Immaculate

Depressive Black from Helsinki since 2005.
“The band was found to create truly melancholic and desperate soundscapes and to unravel the blackened thoughts, the blessing and the curse of the inability to think either black or white nor inbetween. To narrate about the ability to find clarity in madness positivity in the negativity shelter in the dark…” – Osmose Productions

Have seen them only once before at Stockholm Slaughter 2019. Kinda lost them back then but this time I got to be more focused.  Festivals are a bit tricky when it comes to get the best out of bands you never heard before. But this time, super gig!
One of my favourite songs in the first clip below↓ Just harrowing and beautiful.

Candlemass-Ancient-DreamsCANDLEMASS third album “Ancient Dreams” turned 25 and I went to the b-day bash at Medis. With my mom, who came to town for the holidays. She was a bit anxious before the show, but enjoyed the whole thing a lot and also bought herself some merch. She also got to meet some of my awesome friends:)

The show was great!! Their earlier plans to have the whole thing filmed, didn´t work out and some other things didn´t go as planned but shit happens and it still was awesome!! The always so impressive Jörgen Sandström (Grave,Entombed,The Project Hate,Torture Division etc. Looking stunning in his new shirt!!;)) got on stage with very short notice and also the great Pepper Potemkin ( Blackbird Burlesque Cabaret / The Catastrophe Orchestra) appeared during “Solitude” in the end of the show. Dunno about that Torsten Flink guy, tho:) Great thanks to the CANDLEMASS guys for this awesome night!
