11221766_577635225718095_5937587345875052106_nThe saturday music treat started up with The C.L.A.S.P. Ritual – a tribute band including legends  as Gaahl, Dirge Rep, Skagg, Hoest, Iscariah, Thurzur,  Devilish and Infernal Vlad of Cult of Fire. Haha still can´t believe it:))

 

Hoest  in a couple of BURZUM songs and also some DEATHCULT (Thurzur, Skagg & Hoest playing the bass) who obviously never played live before.  And the greatness continued with OLD FUNERAL, HELHEIM, KAMPFAR and TAAKE.

 

Sunday we spent just hanging around with people at the venue until it was time for all to pack their things and leave. Got a great present from Kristian who gave me a signed and numbered copy of the book with his art!!! Later we met up at Garage for the crew party and some food (really good reindeer stew for 70 people!:)), beers and Kvitrafn performed some songs for us. A perfect ending of an awesome weekend. Made some new friends and just to say bye to everyone I wanted to/could find took ages:)) Hope we meet soon again!

Kinda last minute decision and totally against my financial situation, but one does not simply say no to once in a lifetime events like this!
Fantastic weekend and not that often I go to a festival with only headliner bands:) Many of them I saw live for the first time, some of them I´ve seen many times, but all of them had special setlists so there were so many awesome surprises. Lots of legends on stage those two nights. Had such a great time! Collected whatever I could find on YouTube. Hopefully there will be more! Wish I had all the setlists!

Met up with my friend Mike for a couple of reasons (besides the fact I still hadn´t visited his tattoo shop!!). For one, he got himself some new photo gear and he wanted me to come over for a play day testing the new stuff. The second reason…I think I got myself a good base for indoor band shoots:) I can use the tattoo shop´s back room when ever I need to, and because of the great location (Old Town, Stockholm.), there´s also a million good spots for the outdoor photos. So big thanks to Mike and the artists at ZOI Tattoo for being nice and wanting me there:) The deal also includes great benefits for “my” bands and the friends of extreMMetal.se. But more of that later…

For a long time ago me and the great Sinister artist Carlos (Aguilar) started talking about a photo shoot for BLACK SHADOWS TATTOOS, and finally we made it happen. After a long & nice day in Uppsala we ended up with shitloads of really cool portraits.  Also big thanks to Akilles  the DevilDog and the 2 Mauri´s for assistance and company:)

 

Carlos have tattooed many of the greatest bands in extreme metal (SLAYER, KREATOR, NILE, DISSECTION, DESTRUCTION, KRISIUN, DIMMU BORGIR, EXODUS, LOCK UP, VADER… and many more cool bands and musicians.) So of course I also have a tattoo made by him. Pic below. (I love it!!:) B/W,  freehand and done in less than 2 hrs.)

Hamnade för fösta gången i mitt liv på en tatueringsmässa…undrade lite var alla mina tatuerade vänner & bekanta höll hus för jag träffade bara ett par stycken. Fast det var ju fredag och metalfolk är alltid sena att dyka upp på ställen;) Dan efter hade typ alla varit där…Lite synd att jag missade resten av det hela, men skulle dit eg. för att dokumentera inspelningen av OZ kommande musikvideo. Eller första lilla delen av den…det ska bli fler omgångar framöver. Regissören Amir C. har just nu fullt upp att färdigställa sin film om Cornelis V. så antar att den har högst prio just nu. OZ nya platta ska i varje fall vara klar & ute i november.
