After a longer break (see the previous post), I´m somewhat able to do some stuff again.
Even Steelfest was in dangerzone because of  this extremely stressful & busy & expensive spring, but got away in which case!

I left my heart (again) in Hyvinkää and Steelfest Open Air, Metal festival. Also my brain and my last pennies. And probably lost some shit on the ferry too.
Way too much to say about this glorious weekend and way too many to mention. As always, absolutely no shitty performances, no nonsense or bullshit at this crown jewel of all festivals. So first and foremost a huge thanks to Jani who never stray from the path, and all the Steelfest crew. To all the bands in the once again brilliant line up and all the weird & fantastic old and new friends all over the place.
Lots of special mentions would be in order but I go for the limited version and just send a special thanks to my most awesome roommates Marco Manzi, Elsa Wellamo & Janetta Salin.
Mostly because they didn´t murder me in my sleep and also because it could approve my chances to get a decent place to stay next time.
Wil Perkunas, you were sorely missed! At some point I will photoshop you in some of the pics and send over I know you were thinking of us too so hope you can get your shit together ´til next time!

Fullt upp med saker just nu så det var nära att jag inte åkte in alls, men blev “lätt” övertalad xD Men glad att jag gjorde. Väldigt trevlig spelning! Och Kaamos-Kalle lirade bas!
Ser dock ut att jag får skippa en del riktigt bra events under den kommande våren:/

“In 1987, Roger Karmanik – a veteran musician of the Swedish industrial scene – founded Cold Meat Industry. Over the next decade, the label grew from a bedroom passion project into a world-renowned record company. Whilst CMI grew exponentially, Karmanik’s underground mindset and work methods remained largely unchanged. Plagued by setbacks in both his personal and professional life – as well as deteriorating mental health – Roger Karmanik eventually hit a wall. CMI was declared bankrupt in 2011. Then, thirty years after its conception, people from over 40 different countries gathered in Stockholm to celebrate the label’s anniversary – and something unexpected ensued.”

 

Grymt bra jobbat av Claudio (Marino) och andra inblandade. Dokumentären var ruskigt bra och intressant även för dom som inte var där när det begav sig (som jag). Visste inte så mycket om denna scen förräns jag hamnade på Cold Meat 30 års kalas 2017. Mortiis kände jag nog till och var ett stort fan av Karjalan Sissit från Eskilstuna men det var det, typ.
Förutom Roger K. själv och Claudio så är det en hel del intressanta inblandade som har jobbat med detta projekt som Vlad (Death Disco), Bardo Methodology Niklas och Mattias Indy Pettersson. Dom syns inte mer än i credsen (vad jag minns) men har en stor betydelse för produktionen. M. från MGLA och Erik WATAIN dyker upp i intervjuerna tillsammans med en massa CMI artister. Själv har jag bidragit med några foton inbakade här och var i filmen. Efter visningen blev det Q & A på scenen med Ika Johannesson som frågade ut Claudio & Roger.

Ett av dom bästa våldsammaste gigsen jag sett i mitt liv!! Sånt jävla kaos:D CONCRETE WINDS ägde!!
Ljuset var väldigt rött och rimligt svårhanterligt så inga konstigheter där.  Ljudet var helt ok.

Uppsaladoom med ENDTIME. från början var det tveksamt ifall man skulle ha nått annat band utöver CW, men sen blev ENDTIME inplockade och det blev ju bra så.

Plus att dom hade så jävla snygga prylar på merchbordet xD  Robert Sammelin  gjorde album art för “Impending Doom” som släpptes för ett par år sen och Affe Piran (basist i bandet + vokalist i Obnoxious Youth) har designat en hel drös med löjligt snygga grejer bla en “filmaffisch” för varje låt på plattan och lite småprylar i passande förpackningar (60-70tals (?)  stuk). Bandet  hette SATURNIIDS från början men bytte namn 2019.  Lineupen har nog varit så gott som intakt:
