Sludge/Drone/Doom Metal,Post-Rock/Ambient from Bordeaux, France. Or heavy epicus shoegaze as they call it on FB. Whatever it is, it was the best at DBE for some years ago and the best this time! Even in daylight and with no cool lights or projections they ruled big time!!!
MEMBERS: Pierre Anouilh (guitar) Jérôme Alban (guitar, keyboard) Johan Sébenne (bass, electronics) Bertrand Sébenne (drums, keyboard) Shiran Kaidine (guitar) Mathieu Mégemont (drums, electronics)

“In contrast to most misconceptions about black metal productions, the focus of their music is not satanic or misanthropic; their songs’ lyrics talk overall about space, darkness and cosmic mysticism. Besides dominant sounds, vocals are sporadic isolated samples from space-themed films like Stanley Kubrick’s film 2001: A Space Odyssey, Event Horizon and the film Alien.”
Darkspace is a trio from Switzerland founded in 1999 by the musicians Wroth (Paysage D’Hiver), Zorgh and Zhaaral.
A couple of great bands at DBE 6! Enjoyed both a lot!

“Creepy crawly darkjazz combo. Soundtracks for imaginary movies. TKDE formed in 2000 as a project to compose new music for existing silent movies.”
The most perfect way to end the most wonderful festival! Magic!! Ask Johanna;))
It was good to see my favourite Swedish non-extrememetal bands in Transylvania. The concert started out as Per-Erik´s own project Coulisses and later the other guys just joined him on stage and continued as Isobel & November. Great gig and nice times:)
Wonderful, wonderful HEXVESSEL…
About: “Hexvessel is a psychedelic folk-rock band that was founded in 1983 by Englishman Mat McNerney. He moved to Finland in 2009 and was joined by a coven of musicians from Tampere that feature members of Galacticka and Dark Buddha Rising. Fusing late 1960s and early 1970s English folk and psychedelia with a love for Finnish nature, folklore and pagan mysticism, they play a witches brew of acoustic balladry and heavy tripped-out atmospherics. Interior-world-music for secret ceremonies and forest rituals.”
The very best way to enjoy HEXVESSEL is lying flat in the grass under the Transylvanian sky, with a Ciuc Radler . Johanna fell in love with that beer-related stuff and I let her illustrate the state we were in during the concert. >>
Doru at the Dark Bombastic is a master when it comes to make these festivals to an experience of a lifetime. DARK BUDDHA RISING was one of those experiences. Very dark, very intense, very hypnotic and very, very beautiful. I wanted to kick everybody who wanted to talk to me during the awesomeness (sorry;)).
WIKI:“Unholy is a Finnish avant-garde doom metalband. Formed in 1988, they were one of the first doom metal groups in their home country”
Probably the very last chance to catch them live. Glad I was there. Thanks guys!
Metal Archives: “Lantlôs is Middle High German and means “homeless” (literally “without homeland”)”.
The only thing I knew about LANTLÔS before DBE was that it was some project by Neige (Alcest) and Herbst. And listened to some of the songs I had on my DBE playlist. However, Neige isn´t in the band anymore (he was standing in the crowd watching:)). Really cool gig and first ever live performance with the band who was only supposed to be a studio project to begin with. Enjoyed it a lot! Most of it ofc sitting in the grass, drinking beer and loving my life in general. Took some photos, tho:)

“Alcest – that is music from another world, a world that is real, but that exists beyond ours and cannot be grasped by our senses.”
One of the last year´s highlights, ALCEST, back at the Dark Bombastic grounds in Alba Iulia. Very beautiful, very enjoyable. Neige is a genious, as you know;) (The drummer plays also in Peste Noire!!)
Bonfire night on thursday, friday being the first real festival day at this magical place.
ISOLE from Sweden on stage, now with the most handsome bearded guy Jimmy Matsson (Loch Vostok) on bass;)) (The rest of the guys are also in Ereb Altor).
As many times before, I needed to get abroad to see a band from the neighborhood (Gävle is close enough:)) live for the first time. It almost happened at the Getaway Festival just a month earlier. Just that I got there just in time to hear the very last tones.
Jimmy having some of the tasty festival food
The summer festival season is now officially over for me ( ;( ) and I got shitloads of pics to sort out (still even from gigs before the festivals). Which, of course, is going to take a while. Or a bit longer…DBE 4 was the greatest possible finale, tho:))
ORANSSI PAZUZU live was a mindblowing experience. One of the best ever! Even when they played before the sunset and all the cool lights were pretty much for no use. They just brought their own darkness to the stage and it totally worked. Such a freakin´good gig!!
“Oranssi Pazuzu makes music that invites all the arsonists and smokers to hold hands”
Line Up: Ontto – Bass, Korjak – Drums, Moit – Guitars, EviL – Keyboards & Percussion, Jun-His – Vocals & Guitars
