HELL – Sweden Rock Cruise 7/10 2011
One of the best shows I´ve seen this year!!:) Need more!!!
One of the best shows I´ve seen this year!!:) Need more!!!
I do like these metal cruises. Haven´t been on one since April 2010 (the first time I saw DEVIL´S BLOOD!)) so I guess it was about time. Mostly shot the gigs and not so much of the other stuff. But here´s some. Already decided to go on the next one on the spring, no matter which bands there´s going to be. Blind Guardian are booked so far, but I´m sure there will also be something for me;) Highlights: meeting the HELL guys and some from MERCILESS & MORBID members. And ofc lots of old friends:))

Henjo Richter had an accident and couldn´t play on the SRC. They didn´t cancel, tho (and I quote)
“Since we couldn’t find a replacement and did not want to cancel the show and leave our fans disappointed, we have decided to play the show nevertheless and give our longtime live Keyboarder Mr Corvin Bahn (Crystal Breed) some Extraspace and a Distortionpedal for his Organsounds. So if you’re on the Boat and around 1:45 am hear something that sounds like Deep Purple playing GammaRay songs, its us.”
Haha well done:))
Almost a year ago since the Thrash Fest in Sthlm with EXODUS & Co. Time flies…
DARK FUNERAL had their first gig with the new line up (new guys: Nachtgarm, vocals, and Zornheym, bass) and will be keeping busy touring in Mexico & South America and sailing the seas at least once more in the near future on the 70000 Tons of Metal in January.

And so it happened I went on a metalcruise again. Haven´t been on them ships since spring 2010 so It was really nice:) It was quite windy the day we left, and somewhere on the open sea between the Swedish and Finnish archipelago I really could feel it. I´ve had just a couple of beers but felt like a drunk person:)) I´m not going to say that much about the gigs, just sending up the pics in the order the bands played. Btw there´s a small gallery by me on the SRC webpages. Made some pics really fast when I got back home.
Yasse (Yasin Hillborg, drummer in CRUCIFYRE) made a movie!!!!
He´s been working on it in many years and now it´s finally finished and going up in 35 movie theatres cross the country starting on the 7th of october. It´s a film about the history of Swedish metal and many of the stars in the movie were also at Rio this night. The movie was really good so Yasse should be really proud of himself!!:)
And if I want to (and got the time) I can see it again very soon at the Sweden Rock Cruise!!:) The releaseparty was held at Strand with SWITCH OPENS and IN SOLITUDE on stage. Blogging up some pics soon.
At last I got to see IN SOLITUDE again. Haven´t seen them live since they played at Harry B. James for a long time ago. The Åhman brothers started up when they were really young and kept it going in style ever since. I´ll never forget the KATALYSATOR gig @ Uppsala Blodbad back in 2005. Pelle wasn´t even had his 13th birthday yet and all the guys in the band were like…kids:) Omfg what a great gig that was!!
Anyway, I got high expectations for this one and It didn´t go wrong. Fantastic show and i just loved it!! All my respect to the band! I´d really like to skip the GORGOROTH gig in Stockholm in november and go to Gothenburg instead to see these guys play with WATAIN and DEGIAL. Working on it…;) The band came recently back from a tour in US with DOWN and will be playing all over Europe this fall, so go and check them out! Really dark on stage so used a flash for some pics.»THE GALLERY

After the movie we took a short walk to Strand for the releaseparty with some live music. SWITCH OPENS other guitarist Mikael was out of town, so Tobias Alpadie (Gordon Fights) filled in. He did great and the show was really good as always. Cool, difficult-to-shoot lights also;) I heard that they got a new deal with Transubstans Records and a new SO album is in making! Good news!:)
